Long before they found themselves on opposite sides of America's political spotlight, Gavin Newsom and Kimberly Guilfoyle were one of San Francisco's most recognized power couples.
They married in December 2001 and quickly became a symbol of ambition, influence, and rising political success. But as their careers took different directions, their personal lives changed as well.
After Newsom became Mayor of San Francisco, Guilfoyle moved to New York to build her television career. The distance eventually proved too much, and the couple divorced in 2006.
